Professor Yussuf Abdullah D. was born on the 3rd January, 1963 in Lagos. He is an indigene of Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State Nigeria. Prof. Yussuf Abdullah D. started his elementary education at Army Children School Ikeja, Lagos between 1972 & 1977. He attended New State High School, Mushin,Lagos between 1978-1982, for his Secondary school education before proceeding to the Prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka, between 1982-1988 where he bagged his MB;BS Degrees. He had a stint at the Kwara State Government employment as a Medical Officer between 1991 & 1993 after his National Youth Service. He later proceeded for Residency training in Behavioural Sciences at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital between 1993 & 1999 and following his success at the final examination, became a Fellow of The National Postgraduate Medical College in Psychiatry in 1999. He joined the service of the Teaching Hospital as an Honorary Consultant in the year 2000 and that of University of Ilorin as Lecturer I same year and had since risen through the ranks to became a Professor in 2014.
Prof. Yussuf, between April, 2010-July 2010, and June 2011-September 2011, he enrolled at the Postgraduate School of University of Ilorin and obtained Certificates in Health Planning and Management and Health Information Management in jointly organized programs of the University of Ilorin and Federal Ministry of Health.
Besides, from June 2013-September 2014, he again enrolled at the Post Graduate School of University of Ilorin where he bagged Masters of Community Health (MCH). He has over 40 published articles in leading scientific journals.
