EVERY 30th day of March the incumbent Chief Medical Director of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) Professor Abdulwaheed Olajide Olatinwo celebrates his birthday and this year's own was not an exception.
Olatinwo, rounding off his second tenure as the UITH boss is a professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecoloy with key interests in Health System Administration in a low reserve setting.
He obtained his MBBS degree from College of Medicine University of Maiduguri in 1985 and Fellowship Award of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) in 1995. Besides, he holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration (Healthcare Management and Financing) (1992) and a Diploma Certificate in Computing (1991).
He served as Head of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecoloy of both the University of Ilorin and the UITH between August 2002 and July 2004, a position he held with diligence and high sense of responsibility.
Olatinwo have garnered more than 40 Publications all of which have appeared in print in reputable journals. He was a Chief Medical Advisory Council (CMAC) and Director Clinical Service and Training, UITH between November 2006 and 18th March 2010.
A talented surgeon with effective consensus building skill, Olatinwo, a team player with dedication to growth supported by excellent written and verbal communication skill, is married with children.





About us

The University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) belongs to the second generation of Teaching Hospitals which were established by law on the 2nd May 1980. It took off in July1980 and started operation using as its temporary site, the then General Hospital and Maternity Hospital Ilorin which were owned by the Kwara State Government. The permanent site of the hospital was declared opened by His Excellency, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,Chief Olusegun Obasanjo in May 2007 while complete movement took place in April 2010.
